In a famous Korean propaganda song “Dokdo is our land” or "Dokdo is Korea land", there is a well-known phrase.

The phrase is "13th year of Jijeung, Usanguk island. 3rd line, page 50 geography book of Sejong" as below.

(Original Chinese) Sejong Annals 世宗実録  Geography Book  地理志

朝鮮王朝實錄/世宗實錄 - 维基文库,自由的图书馆

于山、武陵二島在縣正東海中 二島相去不遠, 風日淸明, 則可望見。新羅時, 稱于山國, 鬱陵島。地方百里

However there is no Dokdo (独島) in these sentences, many Koreans believe that this 于山 (Usan) or 于山國 (Usanguk Island) is their beloved "Dokdo".

In the sentences, there are four place names;

①于山 (Usan Island) or 于山國 (Usanguk Island) ②武陵 (Buryo Island) ③新羅 (Silla Dynasty) ④欝陵島 (Ulleungdo Island)

Chiese characters : The meaning in English

于山、武陵二島 :Two islands, Usan and Buryo

在縣正東海中 :be in the sea due east from the prefecture (蔚珍縣 Uljin)

二島相去不遠:the two islands are not far from here and each other

風日淸明:on a clear and fine day

則可望見:can be seen

新羅時:in Silla Dynasty

稱于山國:they call it "Usanguk Island" ("they" are the people in Silla Dynasty)

一云鬱陵島:they call it "Ulleungdo Island" too

"一云" means that some and not a few of them (the people in Silla Dynasty) call it. In another word, a surname.

地方百里:it has 40 square kilometers

The subjects of all sentences are must be 于山、武陵二島 (Two islands, Usan and Buryo).

(English Translation)

The two islands, Usan and Buryo are in the sea due east from the Uljin prefecture.

The two islands are not far each other so both islands can be seen from here on a clear and fine day. In Shilla Dynasty, they called it "Usanguk Island" or "Ulleungdo Island". it has 40 square kilometers.

This phrase, "13th year of Jijeung, Usanguk island. 3rd line, page 50 geography book of Sejong" says clearly 于山國 ( Usanguk Island) is 欝陵島 (Ulleungdo Island). And there is no "独島 (Dokdo Island)" anywhere in the sentences.

The labeling words are 鬱陵島 (A surname Ulleungdo) and 羽山国 (Usanguk Island).

That means "Usanguku Island, alias Ulleungdo"

令 is the word 令's one of the same phonetic Chinese characters and has the mean of "a surname".  has the same sound as 于 (u), so 羽山国 is 于山國 ( Usanguk Island).

In this map, we can find the words 鬱陵島(Ulleungdo Island) and 方百里(40 square kilometers).

Common Korean cannot read Chinese characters, they ill-use it. They didn't know Takeshima at the time.

There is No Dokdo Island (独島) anywhere in the Sea of Japan.

Korea illegally robbed Japan of Takeshima in1952.

The occupation of Takeshima by Korea is an illegal occupation undertaken on absolutely no basis of international law. No measure taken by Korea during its illegal occupation with regard to Takeshima has any legal justification. This illegal occupation is not acceptable in any way, given Japan's position on its sovereignty over Takeshima. Japan has been consistently making strong protests against each and every measure taken by Korea and demanding the withdrawal of the measure.

So, Korea has no legal ground. The inlets had never been under Korea's rule before Japan occupied Korea. The islands which were returned after the ww2 along with the independence of Korea were Jeju-do 済州島 제주도、Port Hamilton 巨文島 거문도、Ulleung-do 鬱陵島 울릉도. They referred to San Francisco Peace Treaty

Since the installation of the "Syngman Rhee Line" by Korea, Japan has been repeatedly protesting against Korea's actions such as claims of sovereignty over Takeshima, fishing activities around Takeshima, fires against patrol vessels, and the construction of structures on the islands. In order to resolve the dispute in a peaceful manner, Japan proposed, with a note verbal, to Korea that the issue concerning the sovereignty of Takeshima be referred to the International Court of Justice in September 1954. However, Korea rejected this proposal. In addition, on the occasion of the Foreign Ministerial talks in March 1962, Zentaro Kosaka, then Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, made a proposal to Choi Duk-shin, then Minister of Foreign Affairs of Korea, to refer the issue to the Court, but this proposal was not accepted by Korea again. This situation remains the same until now.

The reason why the S. Korea avoid going to ICJ is the S. Korea know they will lose the case because their assertions about "Dokdo" are all forged facts and lies.
If not, why not!

Takeshima is and was our Japanese soil, and soul.

These sentences might not make sense to you, but it is actually a Korean propaganda song produced in 1982. As it is repeated in the song, the title is “Dokdo is our land” or "Dokdo is Korea land".

Takeshima (Liancourt Rocks) consists of two main steep and rocky islets and 35 smaller rocks. However Takeshima had been Japanese fishing area and incorporated into Shimane Prefecture through the international procedure in 1905, it was robbed by Korean bloodcurdling violence in 1952.

More than 40 Japanese were killed and 4,000 Japanese (most of them were fishers) were forcibly detained for ransom by Korean Army.
